I had to share with you some of these unusual yet unique handbags. Certainly one of a kind!
MUSIC TO MY EARS
The first is for the woman who loves music or the classics. The detail is fabulous.
I call this one Bananarama. Nothing like a matching skirt to finish the look. Obviously this designer exudes a sense of whimsy.
COMPUTER CHIC OR GEEK?
How about a key board bag designed by Joao Sabino from Portugal. Suitable for the computer savvy woman. Perfect for one who likes to recycle – and re-use. This is a great idea considering how many key boards are thrown out every year so I would classify it as being green, even though its not in color.
WELLINGTON BOOTS ANYONE?
I have somewhat of an English background and love to garden in wellington boots. My favorite pair have cherries on them in honor of Door County and the cherry orchards. I also have a mini key chain with a green pair of rubber wellies on it which came from Ireland, so I am a bit fond of wellies. In fashion, they look great with jeans in the spring but not so sure about this yellow pair to match this tweed Channel inspired suit; but each to his own when it comes to making a fashion statement. Talk about being retro! If your still an owner of several music tapes and a tape player, this bag is for you. Definitely makes one realize how products change so easily. Looks like it would be a huge tote bag for hauling lots of stuff. Just what a woman needs. If you want to see more products inspired by tapes have a look at Toxel.com
There is always a bag that reflects trends. Cupcakes started becoming popular last year and have continued to the point of replacing traditional wedding cakes with cupcake tiers; that is if your tend to be hip and trendy and don’t want a classic cake. Of course, designer Judith Leiber is always on trend and revels in making sophisticated luxury evening bags with whimsical motifs. Do you have a sweet tooth? If you do, you may want to order her cupcake purse for desert, it looks delicious to wear.
This Prada Lady K handbag is made of an acrylic base with a gold plated gun and bullet impressed in it. This unusual bag was designed by Dutch artist Ted Noten creating one of the most controversial hand bags on the market. I instantly thought of the James Bond Movie “Gold Finger” or perhaps the Soprano’s come to mind?
LET’S BAG IT
Looking back, do you remember this bag? It is The Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork bag from 2007, made up of 14 bags stitched together in a layered patchwork style. This bag was priced at $52,000.00 and Louis Vuitton only made 24 for sale worldwide and 5 for sale in America. Well, Beyonce Knowles bought one for her collection. This is the go to bag when you can’t make your mind up on what to wear with an outfit.
Lady Gaga would have loved to have this bag in Japan. Could have completed her raw meat outfit. There are lots of crazy themed bags out there but if your a meat and cheese lover, have a look at these bags suggested by Anita Bath. Is this bag making you hungry for more?
These recycled pop top bags are very cool and Eco friendly. I saw them for real in Las Vegas at the Moda show in February. Now the designer has even branched out to clothing. With silver being the hottest new metallic this season, these are perfect to complete any outfit. The pop tops offer a softer brushed metal finish which softens the bling affect making them more sophisticated. What’s great about bags from Escama is at first you don’t notice what they are made of, but when you look closer, you notice the handmade beauty of each design.
