Hi, I’m Jaima, a designer who loves flowers. After blogging about this spring’s floral fashion trend, I started to think about our English lab named Daisy. She was a birthday gift I gave my husband and once he got this adorable pup in his arms, he promptly named her “Daisy.” The Daisy name comes from our family history and is my actually my “nickname”. Well, the nickname originated from my two aunties…..Aunt Maud and Daisy who lived in England. In honor of them, my mother nicknamed my sister and I Maud and Daisy as we supposedly looked and behaved a lot like our aunties. Thinking about the name and flower Daisy made me wonder about the meaning and symbolism of a “Daisy?” Read on…

The flower Daisy symbolizes:
- loyal love
Just what our dog is all about. She is a lover, kind and gentle and just wants to love you to death! I think her name suits her demeanor. I am sure you have heard that saying “It’s all in a name.” This is one time I agree.
Daisy our English Lab
I find it interesting that something as simple as a name can bring the past into the present with our families and businesses. I was inspired by the name and flower and used the Daisy flower for my company trademark. My Daisy motif was chosen in honor of our English lab and my Aunties.
After thinking about this, I realized, there is a lot more in a name than you think. So until next time, have a look at your name and get inspired, as you never know where it will lead you!
Cheers and good health.
