I love to decorate with pattern for interiors and have just discovered a unique fashion designer, Mary Katrantzou who also shares my passion for prints. Her specialty is mixing interior-exterior decoration on clothing designs. She has been quoted to say that she wants to put “the room on the woman”. This years patterns were inspired by objects of beauty like Faberge eggs, Ming vases, cloisonne enamel and Meissen porcelain. I have been to the famous Meissen Manufacturing facility in Meissen, near Dresden, and this designer exudes the same fluidity of the delicate, beautifully painted porcelain as does her digitally printed fashions.
