Wood, Fired!
A beautiful piece of wood furniture always seemed to be looked upon as the be all and end all  investment piece when decorating your home, office, or any space, really.  Sometimes though, I have a penchant for some mixed media when it comes down to it and harbor a particular affinity for accents of the metal variety.  Metal has longevity in its durability and always seems to maintain a modern freshness.  Take a look at this gorgeous iron coffee table and the super chic zinc side table – perfect examples of modern marvels.  These less traditional of materials most often take on a somewhat androgynous look, thus making for great “compromise” pieces if you and your love are trying to find ways to meld uber feminine and uber masculine tastes!
