We’re halfway through the Olympic Games and I’m feeling inspired. So, this week’s blog posts are going to take the competition from the field to the dressing room and pit our hometown style faves against the host team Britain. The first event has me looking to the plethora of both American and English ingénues that have earned the title of icon. From their mastery of mod to their consistent ability to set the trends of everyday dressing, the Brits are not known to make many fashion missteps. From Rosie Huntington Whitely to the whimsical and charming Alexa Chung, the London girls have representation in both high fashion chic and quirky cool.

We have the Olsen twins, ever the risk-takers, and Mrs. Obama, who has superseded Jackie O. as the best-dressed First Lady of all time.

We have Gwen Stefani, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rachel Zoe as well as a bevy of fashion innovators amongst us.

They all present their own unique look, and for the wide-spread individuality they represent, the U.S. is bringing home the gold on this one.
