Fun Fabrics

September 10, 2010 By Jaima 3 Comments

I  just  want to look at a  fabulous print to get inspired.  Here is today’s eye candy!

I can’t help it……I love fabric and wallpaper. Especially designer prints like this whimsical China Rose pattern from Scalamandre.

This propecia dosage hair loss is being sold on Ebay  for $179.00 for 5.5  yards. Fabulous Price for this delightfully colorful print!

Enjoy!

Hi Jaima, Marge from M&W Wallpaper, Oklahoma City. How are you doing, looks like ok! So glad to see you are still involved in design, fabric, wallpaper, etc. How is Rick? Bill and I are semi retired, I am working 3 days a week for one of our old competitors, and Bill and I buy old furniture, paint it or cover it with wallpaper and sell it. It is a lot of fun and a great creative outlet. Where are you living now? Is S.A. Maxwell still in business and are you still designing wallpaper. We have a few books at the store I work at, but if you have any new ones we would love to have a look at them. Look forward to hearing from you. Marge.

      Hi Marge:
How are you? So nice to hear from you. Sounds like a fun creative
outlet using wallpaper and furniture. Two things I love!
Yes, we still have Jaima Brown Home. We
just make high end lines now and not mass market product. We don’t
make much as the market has been a disaster, as you know but we see it coming back slowly.
After the JBH Stripes Collection, I came out with a line called Aja.
It is simpler and more modern. I feel like going modern now. Lately, I
am working on a paper weave/ grass cloth collection. I wanted to do
one a while back but we never did it so now is the time as texture is
so in with naturals. Problem with wallpaper is the inventory…that is
a killer with this market so we are taking it slow. I am determined
      to survive this!
We sold our big building a few years back and moved to a small
building north of Chicago in Gurnee, I think you knew that but am not
sure. Rick and I sold our house in north Chicago and moved to Naples
Florida about one and half years ago. It is really beautiful here.
At the moment, I am trying to start up a new company. I am designing
some jewelry as well as bags. I really like designing the bags and
would love to become like Coach! One can dream. I want to make some
patterned bags but at the moment am working on some woven type
cosmetic and handbags and am trying to write a business plan. Of
course, I love the designing and find the business plan a bit
overwhelming but am determined to learn how to write one as I have so
many dreams to accomplish in this new area.
Do you know any accessory reps that would want to carry my line? My samples are almost finished
as I am still tweaking them but they are lovely.

I am also doing some staging which I hope will lead to doing some
interior design. I staged a home before Christmas and it sold in 14
days. Amazing. My husband had the listing. So I am busy trying to get
these three areas up and running.
Rick is great. He got his Real Estate license and is now selling real
estate in Naples under Caldwell Banker. He still is the president of
SA Maxwell Co. so he does both. I think he is a natural for real
estate as we love to build homes and re-do them. So he has a lot of
knowledge in that area as well he knows Naples really well as he has
been coming here with his parents for years.
Are you still doing some interior design? I remember when you went
through school to get the degree. It was tough! Good for you getting
that done! You should be proud.
Really nice to hear from you. Hope Bill is fine and keep me posted on
      what your up to.
I am designing my website for bags and interiors but it is under
      construction.
You can have a look though at interiorsbyjaima.com or
jewelrybyjaima.com ( these are my blogs)
I am just starting again to blog as I didn’t for two months as I am
still trying to figure out my business and its strategy for the
      marketplace.

Take care and all the best to you both! Nice surprise to hear from
you. Ever hear from Suzy Brown? Did she ever make her famous bbq sauce
      and sell it?
      Regards,
      Jaima

      Hi Marge:
I can’t believe I just found this email. I did send you one a while back but I don’t think you ever got it. I am still in wallpaper. Our new line I am working on is a grasscloth collection. It will also have another dimensional paper in it which is exciting. Hard to make but it does look good. I also started a new firm called Jaima & Co. I am designing jewelry and handbags. Thought I would give the fashion world a try. I am still starting out but willeventually figure out the timelines on making product. Have a look at my new site http://www.jaimacompany.com
Glad you are still using wallpaper. I love the stuff! Anyway, Rick and I moved to Naples Florida and have an English Lab named Daisy and I have an African Gray parrot named Lily. They are quite fun. Working away trying to make my new venture in fashion a great success story. Lots to learn. Do you ever do any interior design?
Take care, have fun and be safe. Say hi to Susy Brown if you still see her as I would love to know if she ever made her famous barbeque sauce?
      Cheers.
      Jaima
