Crazy for Paisley

September 10, 2009 By Jaima 4 Comments

The paisley motif is of Persian and Indian origin and dates back to the 1500’s.  In the 17th century Emperor Napoleon of France, gifted his wife Josephine with a beautiful Kashmir paisley shawl. Josephine grew a passion for  these intricate, beautifully woven shawls and amassed several hundreds of them, many given to her from French Officers.

She was a major fashion icon during Napoleon’s reign and had a great influence on creating the trend for  paisley shawls, which continued to flourish in popularity for years.  Hundreds of years later  the paisley motif  was brought  to the forefront.  In the late 1960’s “The Beatles” traveled to India and when they returned, they brought back Indian fashions which influenced various styles, bringing the paisley, once again,  back into popularity with  mainstream America.

Even the Legendary John Lennon had a Rolls Royce custom painted with a paisley design. This universal design was popping up everywhere from artwork, fashion, home décor and even guitars.

Featured in the lowest price for propecia target=”_blank”>New York Times magazine for fall fashions,  paisley’s are back in trend for 2009 and are flourishing not only in dresses but in home interiors .

I just discovered your web site on yahoo and see that you’ve got some fantastic thoughts in this post. I specifically appreciate the way you’ve been able to stick so very much thought into a relatively short submit (comparitively) which creates it an thoughtful post on your subject. IMHO you put a lot of good information in this submit not having all the filler that most bloggers use just to make their posts appear longer, that is ideal for a gal like me who doesn’t have a lot time cause I’m usually within the go. I often get so frustrated with so many of the final results in the major SE’s due to the fact they frequently seem to mostly be filled with filler content that frequently isn’t quite sensible. If you don’t mind I’m going to add this post and your weblog to my delicious favorites so I can share it with my family. I appear forward to coming back to read your future posts too.
