A large-scale novelty butterfly pattern “Butterfly Folly” opens the collection with a foundation of sophistication and style. Continuing the theme, butterflies and apple blossoms are reflected in “Flights of Fancy” a stunning watercolor mural.

Bold Banana Leaf Wallpaper

December 6, 2014 By Jaima Leave a Comment

Trending for 2015 are tropical leaves but if you really know about style, banana leaves are always in fashion….and a classic design! The Banana leaf has various symbolic meanings.   In Africa, Banana leaves symbolize abundant fertility and are used in a ritual to make women fertile.  Did you know that the flowers that turn into the banana fruit are sterile and because of this, Buddha made the banana plant the symbol of futility of earthly possessions. In Asia, the  banana plant is considered a  very large herb and not a tree as it doesn’t have any seeds and because of this, it was considered the first gift from the gods. Classic Chinese iconography shows Buddha meditating on the key to wisdom at the foot of a banana plant. With all that  being said, I love the beauty and boldness of a large banana leaf print in a home and could easily meditate in this room. The Buddha are so wise!

Bold Wallpapers for Laundry Rooms

Bold Prints for Laundry – Mud Rooms

Love this  bright turquoise and aqua  medallion wallpaper. This laundry / mud room was interior designed by Birds of a Feather design duo Ann White Schutte and Hooper Patterson. These gals just finished creating  a room for the 2014 Designer Showhouse in Wilmington NC.

Turn any room into a designer statement by using a large print wallpaper on the walls. Big scale prints instantly add  drama into an interior space.  Why be shy?  This grand medallion wallpaper is from Graham and Brown and was designed by Amy Butler. It’s  bold and beautiful! Don’t you LOVE IT? I do!

Wallflowers

October 11, 2012 By Jaima Leave a Comment

Wallpaper is making resurgence in decorating, and it’s coming back with greater appeal than ever before.  Once again, Anthropologie has sourced some of the best of “what’s new” with some of the freshest prints and design concepts to be seen.  The Dreamscape Mural by Rebekah Maysles  provides an easy to apply six panel mural that allows for stick-on application and easy removal.  The Dynasty wallpaper, along with all other designs by Brooklyn-based design studio, Eskayel, established environmentally friendly wallpaper.  This style in a digitally printed watercolor painting recreation. These and other equally bold and inspiring designs establish a large focal point and minimize the need for large amounts of art.  What better draw to get back into the groove of wallpaper?
