Unique Airstream Interiors

January 25, 2010 By Jaima 5 Comments

Well, I do a lot of traveling in my car with my pets and have often thought about getting a mobile home to make life easier while on the road.   With my love for pattern,  I found a Swedish company Decor Maison, that showcases their wallpapers in Airstreams. I grew up in a home that was named Maison Rouge ( it was a  red brick home and my mother spoke French, hence the name). The concept of showing a room within an airstream is very unique but also shows us in a capsule, how to use simple, modern patterns in different small spaces.   Here they showcase a powder room……I love the outdoor shower…so trendy! And to follow a bedroom…… How about a kitchen to go……..Definitely  an unusual, fun and whimsical  way to showcase  their latest wallpapers. While fascinated by the entire Airstream “small house” decor idea,  I discovered something […]

Crazy Critters

January 18, 2010 By Jaima Leave a Comment

Ahhh……the crisp fresh look of whimsical wallpapers. This Tikko pattern from our new  Aja Collection by Jaima Brown Home is awesome. The one great thing about  decorating with  vine trailing wallpaper designs is that they are so versatile. They look fabulous in laundry rooms, powder rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and especially Jack and Jill bathrooms.  Trailing patterns keep your eye flowing around a room and therefore can hide building imperfections, like walls not being perfectly straight. This pattern is  especially whimsical  as it features little marching ants on one vine, a butterfly, a lazy frog resting on a branch, a little crab just waking up, bumble bees and even a few lucky lady bugs resting propecia alternative on leaves.  All these crazy little critters add some  interest to this wallpaper while telling a story unto itself. This Tikko pattern comes in bright colors such as lime, fresh white, yellow, cream […]

Extreme Wallpapers

January 12, 2010 By Jaima Leave a Comment

Wallpaper is so hot now, that it is  inspiring fashions for exhibits at the Heimtextil show in Germany.  Wallpaper definitely makes a fashionable statement for homes but also for these gorgeous outfits! I loved what Anne E Collins, editor for Elle Decor said about fashion and wallpaper designs: “I was shopping with my best friend, Elana, in Banana Republic the other day and b-lined for what I thought was a gorgeous dress. She looked at me and started laughing, “Anne, that looks like a roll of wallpaper.” She was right–but that’s exactly propecia age what I loved about it. I often look at the graphic florals and soft geometrics of home textiles and papers and think, I want that in a size four!”  I can totally relate to her! I have been designing fabrics and wallpapers for years and have noticed that fashion and home design have finally caught up […]

SMALL SUMPTUOUS SPACES

December 14, 2009 By Jaima Leave a Comment

Ever looked closely at a small space and thought it wasn’t?  An optical illusion – also referred to as a visual illusion, which is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality.  Well it’s  easy to change ones perception of a room size  when we use small or large  wallpaper designs in specific spaces. It can  be magical! You can achieve a more spacious look just by adding wallpaper to a small room.  No longer do the old decorating rules apply when one use to think that only small patterns should be used in small rooms. Using a dramatic  pattern in a small space often illuminates and creates a more interesting visual story. The top designer from Elle Decor’s design contest on Bravo used this simple trailing  brown wallpaper to accent the table and make it  a  focal point.   It is far more stimulating than a plain painted […]

Silhouette Style

November 24, 2009 By Jaima Leave a Comment

Old is NEW again with the resurgence of silhouettes; an image of a shape or pattern that consists of its outline.  Like cameo jewelry or a shadow in which the object appears light against a darker background or vice versa; a silhouette design generates a dramatic effect with very little need for intricate detail. My soon to be released wallpaper collection Aja offers this modern day version of “less is more” with two  unique styled designs. Jacques, in seaglass and in celery green above  is a  modernized classic  Jacobean print  which  evokes a  simple bold statement.   Kashmir,   the richly  colored  paisley motif is propecia 1 year definitely for the young at heart whose tastes appeal to  drama in pattern and scale. These designs are perfect when a more graphic look is desired to compliment your room while blending easily with any furniture style. I love how these classic designs  […]

Sculptured Papers

October 30, 2009 By Jaima 5 Comments

Have you ever given any thought to your plain white ceilings?  Well I have! I love a wallpapered ceiling as it adds such individuality to a room. I have featured two of my non-directional designs in the photographs. Imperial Tile was recently used in a historic tearoom in Boston on the ceiling and walls; looks like tin ceiling doesn’t it?  The dimensional Camden Stripe paper with a brushed nickle finish was perfect for this foyer, but this elegant stripe looks good in any setting. Imperial Tile wallpaper  is one of a kind, especially as it is the only dimensional paper in America that comes available in  vintage metallic finishes.  I just online pharmacy propecia viagra love it! Not only can you see the difference  you can feel it! Watch this spot for other wallpaper ceiling ideas for your 5th wall. Images via Jaima Brown Home  and homewallcoverings.com

Tulip Passion

August 17, 2009 By Jaima 1 Comment

Florals are making a triumphant return to home fashion.   Whether you are a minimalist who loves retro styled prints or a traditionalist who desires the classics, there is a floral to suit everyone’s style. Make a statement by creating a feature wall with this dramatic tulip wallpaper “Dutch Treat”. The pattern itself was inspired from a vintage fabric from Europe.  Historically, tulips are among one of the most popular springtime garden flowers. The name tulip originated from the Persian word, “dulband”, which means turban.   Suitably named, the tulip flower resembles a wrapped turban when in full bloom.  Turkish men centuries ago wore tulips tucked into their turbans. Symbolically, tulips represent fame and perfect love, however their meanings change depending on the color of the tulips.    Red tulips mean, “believe me” and are a declaration of love. A bouquet of tulips symbolizes grace and elegance. Every pattern used in decorating has […]

Stylish Stripes

August 4, 2009 By Jaima Leave a Comment

Welcome to my first post on decorating with pattern! I am so excited to share with you my design expertise, inspirations and ideas. Wallpaper and fabric give interiors personality while expressing individual style.  Learning how to use color, fabric and wallpaper together is the key ingredient to a successfully designed décor. I love this lime infused seating area as it is a perfect example of how three patterns can blend together to create an elegant monochromatic interior. Three scales of pattern are used in this interior: 1.  Wallpaper :  Narrow tailored Asprey stripe in citron (Pattern 7710-244) 2.  Chair front & cushion:  Upholstered with large floral toile, Avignon in lime. (Pattern 7705-851F) . 3.   Chair back and edge of cushion: Upholstered with a wide four inch tonal stripe, Sutton in kiwi. (Pattern 7710-562F). These patterns cohesively exist because of color and the well proportioned scale of designs. Here are some […]
