Couldn’t help sharing this image with you all. I love Spring! The rich red, white and blue affect is awesome. Makes me happy just looking at these blossoms and how truly nature does inspire us visually through colors. Enjoy the view. Happy weekend!
Funny Face
Funny Face
Once again cupid is gracing us with his presence, Happy Valentine’s Day y’all. The thought is sweet, but, oh, the pressure of this day of days. Will I get a gift? Should I give a gift? What should it be? Whatever you decide, stick to a few simple rules and you should be good to go. Keep it simple and make it personal. Sweets for your sweetie is a pretty generic go-to for your amour, but Tokyo’s FabCafe has found a way to make a little more special. What do you think – would your love interest appreciate their face immortalized in chocolate? More importantly, would they be able to eat it?

Room With A View
Ahhhh, the Holidays. It’s a great time of year to catch up with friends and family…and with any luck, to recover from all of the corresponding stress with some nice vacation R&R. It’s the perfect excuse to set aside all of those lingering home improvement projects and enjoy someone else’s labor of design love. My vote goes to this underwater retreat at the Conrad Hotel in the Maldives. Waking up to a tropical fruit basket and a shark at your window, who could resist that?

Style Star: Carine Roitfield
Model, author, muse, edito
r, stylist, consultant, icon…is there any a chapeau Carine Roitfield has not worn? Creeping up on 60 and Carine is still the epitome of chic – the woman, her French counterparts and hoards of global fashionistas alike all aspire to emulate. Asymmetrical hemlines, deconstructed pieces, utilitarian inspiration, and just enough femininity…she is the personification of all of my favorite style elements. Stepping down as editor-in-chief at French Vogue last year, she knows not to wear out her welcome…and always aspires to reinvigorate her career while staying true to the style that made her a fashion celebrity.
Nailed It!
Style and beauty bloggers unite! Runway style is inspiring in so many ways beyond just how we dress ourselves. From our head down to our toes – literally – we can mix the latest looks into our everyday. The nail-as-art phenomenon has hit a new high in recent months and shows no signs of slowing down, so why not jump aboard. From the over-the-top to the subtle & chic, there truly is a look that everyone can appreciate. How great are these blogger interpretations of Rachel Zoe and ADAM’s Spring 2013 looks?! A bit of texture here, a splatter of color there…what’s not to love.

Art Attack
Once upon a time, we looked forward to the latest technology for what it could offer to our face-to-face chat time or photo blogging capabilities, but nowadays it has an equally significant impact on our art quality. As I noted in a recent post, digital prints have been all the rage in apparel this season, but their continued contribution to the art scene cannot be denied. An economical choice to give your walls the “pop” they so desire, bright and bold artist creations are sure to give party guests a gaze inducing focal point. I am particularly partial to the vivid prints showcasing a lighting meets geode type of energy. Enjoy!

Florals are in Voque
Hi there everyone, I am finally designing a new wallpaper collection. Exciting! Getting back to my design roots, well upon researching flowers, I came upon this previous Japanese Voque cover. I have always loved flowers and I tribute this to having English parents. They loved to garden and so we grew up being surrounded with lots of color and beauty inside and out! The teal backdrop against the fresh floral dress is stunning…..totally pleasing to the eye!

Faux Love
Faux bois, or false wood to us non-Frenchies, has had me inspired lately. By the looks of all the fabulous products I’ve come across representing the style, it has a lot of other creative minds feeling inspired too! The air is getting crisp and the feeling of fall has started rolling in, and already the thoughts of warm sweaters, hot chocolates (or hot toddies depending on what kind of night you plan on having;)) and roaring fireplaces are infiltrating my brainwaves. It feels like the perfect time to disappear to my cabin retreat, but, oh yeah, I don’t have a cabin. Oh and I’m not that rustic. The best compromise; bring a little of the outdoors in and still maintain your flair for the contemporary with a little faux bois in your domain.
