If you are not already familiar with the Ciaté brand – you’re welcome for the introduction! Ciaté is known for products that embrace and initiate the boldest of nail design trends.  Their manicure sets are always on the cutting edge of design: suede effect, matte finish, and even the caviar look.  The newest set in their collection is my personal fave; the Very Colourfoil Manicure.  The three variations include a base nail polish color paired with an artful array of foils that can be used to design your manicure.  Genius, just genius!

The Timeless Style of Lily Pulitzer

It was a sad day for the fashion world when the iconic Lily Pulitzer passed away this week.  Her bright and cheerful prints have been a prepster’s staple for decades, and her patterns have successfully invaded the home design world.  Known for a personality as effervescent as her patterns, Ms. Pulitzer entered the fashion world on a whim and left it as a household name.  Clearly, her legacy will last far beyond her years.

And by zzz’s I obviously mean more zebra.  How ingenious in Mr. Alexander Wang this season? He incorporated a plethora of all white pieces into his collection this spring and boy do they make an impact. Especially amazing are the ones featuring a zebra pattern…not by way of print, but instead by way of cutout texture. Simply stunning!

In a week long tribute to the bold impact of black & white in the form of a certain angelic African animal, I must start off by showcasing some of the best of the best.  As with all animal print, zebra can go the direction of cheesy with only a slight misstep. Leave it to Ms. Rachel Zoe to show us how to do it right; with simplicity that’s how.  No need for statement accessories with this look –keeping it simple is keeping it right.  Look to Valentino for inspiration…clearly the fashion house has its eye on the fashion prize as well.

Pattern of the Week: Floral Silk Shoes

What women doesn’t love shoes? These are my latest find at the consignment shop Designer Divas. They are designed by Isaac Mizrahi and are totally comfortable.  They look fabulous when worn with white that is  accented with  lime or purple.   As the saying goes “if the shoe fits”   I buy two pairs… I only wish!

Keeping in line with the circus ride of animal prints that I hopped on this week, today we shall foray into the best of the best in accessories of the zoological varietal.  A web-stop at Net-a-Porter always induces some fashion lusting, so, of course, I headed their cyber way to scope out the latest accessories.  Leave it to them to stock the best of the best from the latest and greatest of designer collections.  You can’t go wrong with Jerome Dreyfuss Leopard bag.  Cow print Giuseppe Zanotti stilettos with a red accent and metal heels? Only if I can handle the 6” spike that day!!

Love it or loathe it, leopard is a look that has been around for-eva and is going nowhere soon. It sometimes gets a bad rap as a cheesy or even trashy, gasp, print, but it is all about wearing this bold look right.  Many of the most iconic women in fashion are proud leopard loving gals, and they can always be counted on to show the rest of us how to do it right!  From Audrey Hepburn to Jackie O. to Kate Moss doing it so right I had to show her twice…classy is all in the execution.  One tip for all you ladies aiming to look this good in leopard; keep your fabrics in check!  Poor quality leopard is nearly impossible to recover from, just sayin…
